Fred Astaire and Judy Garland – what a couple of swells they are
Yorkshire Evening Post

It's Easter! Bring on the Terry's Chocolate Orange, a buttered hot cross bun, soft-boiled eggs with soldiers, bank holiday traffic queues, whiny children, angry adults ... and, everything crossed, on the telly a good, old-fashioned musical.
-

The BBC schedules will, undoubtedly, include a religious epic or three - The Robe, The Greatest Story Ever Told, possibly the longest and dullest film ever made, and King of Kings.
ITV 3 will cram its schedule with all 31 Carry On films and show them in rotation from Good Friday to end of play on Easter Monday.
They make me want to carry on channel hopping. My sister loves them-I loathe their crudeness, rudeness and lavatorial, smutty content - but love every member of the cast, from Barbara Windsor and Charles Hawtrey to Sid James and Kenneth Williams.
A shufty of Great Movies, Talking Pictures TV, Sky Arts and Film 4-my go-to for something uplifting, non-violent, cheerful and heart-warming to watch yields Sleepless in Seattle, lovely, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, smashing, and The Riddle of the Sands, great.
