Coun Cohen honoured and humbled to become Lord Mayor of Leeds

Coun Dan Cohen has become the new Lord Mayor of Leeds.
Taking over the role from Coun Abigail Marshall Katung, Coun Cohen is the 131st Lord Mayor of Leeds. He will be joined in his mayoral year by his wife, Mrs Elayna Cohen, who will take on the role of Lady Mayoress.
Born in Alwoodley, Coun Cohen attended Leeds Grammar School before reading law at Northumbria University. Graduating in 1996 and after training as a solicitor, he spent most of his working career as managing director and head of in-house legal at Madison Hosiery; a leading Leeds small and medium enterprise importing and distributing hosiery to the country's major retailers, a family business started by his father Henry Cohen in the 1960's.
