Thug’s train station attack on helpless man

A train passenger was knocked unconscious when a thug stamped on his head as he lay helpless on a station platform.

Peter Daniels had assaulted his girlfriend before launching the vicious attack on the other man.

Shocking footage of the violence at Bellshill station was shown at Hamilton Sheriff Court.

Daniels, 36, of Milton Street, Motherwell, admitted assaulting the male victim to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement on April 15, 2023. He also admitted attacking his female partner.

The court heard the victim was not known to the couple but they got chatting to him on the train as they travelled home from Glasgow after a night out.
