MARION MCMULLEN turns the clock back 30 years to the birth of Hollyoaks

HOLLYOAKS was hailed as one of Britain's most youth-driven and groundbreaking soaps when it launched on Channel 4.

It all began 30 years ago on October 23, 1995, and the first episode was watched by nearly three million viewers. Nick Pickard, who appeared in the opening show as Tony Hutchinson, is still a member of the cast.
