Welsh house prices rising at fastest rate in two years

HOUSE prices in Wales has risen at the fastest rate in more in two years, according to latest research from Principality Building Society.
Its house price index for the first quarter (Q1) of this year shows the average price of a home sold in Wales increased to £238,413, up 2.2% on the previous quarter and 4% higher than the same period last year.
The average price is still below the record high of £239,642 in July 2024. While affordability challenges remain, the steady rise in both prices and the number of transactions which reached 10,000 in Q1 (up 20% on last year) suggests buyer confidence is still growing.
