'Serious concerns' at hospital as 30 patients could be moved out

A HEALTH board is urgently considering moving patients from one city hospital to another amid “serious red flag safety concerns”.
Swansea Bay University Health Board said it was looking to transfer inpatients from West Ward at Gorseinon Hospital to an empty ward at Singleton Hospital and how it could affect patient safety.
Although no final decision has been made the health board said plans had been drafted in response to serious concerns around the staffing of the 30-bed ward.
The plans include transferring 30 beds to Singleton on a temporary basis from October 1. The update comes almost a week after a person, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Western Mail some staff were unhappy with initial plans announced to transfer patients.
The health board has issued an update.
