Ponty bounce back from cup loss to stay in control
Western Mail
|October 06, 2025
ADMIRAL Premiership leaders Pontypridd bounced back from the disappointment of surrendering their grip on the WRU Premiership Cup with a bonus-point 28-11 win at Bargoed.
-
It was 6-6 at the break with Josh Prosser kicking two penalties for the hosts, while Jorge Lucey and Dale Stuckey kicked one each for Ponty.
Second-half tries from fullback Oli Shepherd, No. 8 Jordan Coxley, wing Stuckey and back-rower Ethan Evans secured maximum points for the Valley Commandos. Jaydan Pugh converted one.
Loosehead prop Louis Jones scored for Bargoed.
The win takes Pontypridd a point clear of newly-promoted Beddau, who also made it four wins from four after Callaghan Smith's penalty with the last play of the game snatched a 22-20 win over Cross Keys.
Wing Ewan Roberts, flanker Leon Rogers and fullback Cody Baker scored for the Green and Golds at Mount Pleasant Park, with Ollie Wilde and Smith adding a conversion each.
For Keys, scrumhalf Lewis Stevens, centre Aron Arthur and prop Tom Burnham scored. Stevens kicked a conversion and a penalty.
