PARKRUN participants have been warned over their behaviour or face the event being cancelled after complaints about the behaviour of participants.

Organisers at Swansea Bay parkrun have said they are “disappointed and despondent” after complaints abusive language was used towards cyclists and that a woman was barged out of the way.

There was also “significant disregard of the shared path etiquette,” a statement after Saturday's event said.

The free 5km event happens in Swansea at 9am every Saturday - like many of its hugely popular sister UK parkrun events across the UK - with people starting from the city’s Secret Bar and Kitchen, along the promenade towards Mumbles.

The path is not exclusively hired by parkrun and the organisers say they emphasise the need to share the path with other people out running, walking or cycling, in the briefing before each run and in its event details online.
