A DRUNKEN man stabbed his sister’s partner with a screwdriver after an argument broke out when he was asked to turn down loud music he was playing.

The victim was left with puncture wounds to his stomach, shoulder and forearm.
Christopher Hale, 41, had been out drinking with his sister Denise Hale and her partner Andrew Tolley on April 20, 2023, before returning to the couple's home in Newport. Mr Tolley went to bed but the defendant stayed up and listened to loud music.
A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Tuesday heard Mr Tolley came downstairs and asked them to turn the music down but an argument broke out.
