Man raped woman at drugs party
Western Mail
|September 18, 2025
A MAN raped a woman after a drugsand alcohol-fuelled party held at a remote rural property, a court has heard.
Joel Evans denied the allegation and the matter went to trial, with the victim saying it had been an awful experience to be in the same room as him again and to "breathe the same air".
A judge at Swansea Crown Court told 23-year-old Evans his judgement had been "grossly affected" by the substances he had consumed when he carried out the attack on his victim.
The judge also said that the tone of references she had read suggested some people thought the allegation against the defendant was malicious, but she said those people should understand that the jury was sure the complainant gave a truthful account of what happened.

Voters want to 'punish' us – Neil Kinnock on the plight Labour faces in Wales
IVEN the premise of the interview we'd agreed on was the state of Labour at the moment, it’s probably fortuitous - for me at least - that as Neil Kinnock and I meet, the main topic dominating the whole Parliamentary estate is the reaction to the latest crisis Keir Starmer is facing.
