Lifesaving donation to brother ‘felt surreal’

MAN received a lifesaving stem cell transplant from a perfect match 3,500 miles away - only to later realise it had been his brother who saved him.
An urgent international search was launched for a stem cell to match Nicholas Moreley, from Monmouthshire, after he was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2024
After receiving the transplant, Nicholas, who works as a consultant radiologist at Velindre Cancer Centre and the University Hospital of Wales, has now been able to return to work and get back to his jogging and mountaineering hobbies.
In April 2024, Nicholas first noticed something wasn’t quite right having suffered with a persistent cough which lingered for a few months. A subsequent blood test revealed he had leukaemia.
