First-day defeat, but Tandy stays positive

WALES’ attacking intent had Steve Tandy purring on Sunday - even if the defence was a bit of a downer.

Tandy’s first game in charge of Wales ended with a 52-28 defeat to Argentina at the Principality Stadium.
The Pumas battle-hardened after a summer playing in the Rugby Championship against New Zealand, South Africa and Australia - proved too strong for the hosts.
Argentina ran in seven tries, underlining the problems Tandy faces as he looks to arrest a slide which has seen Wales slip to 12th in the world.
But Wales did hit back with four tries of their own, with Tomos Williams, Dewi Lake, Jac Morgan and Blair Murray all crossing.
“The day ended in disappointment, but there’s lots to like around the group,” said head coach Tandy.
