EBBW Vale head coach Jason Strange was delighted after his side made it six wins from seven with a bonus-point triumph at spirited RGC to move seven points clear in Super Rygbi Cymru.

Hooker Ieuan Morris, SRC’s leading try scorer, dotted down in each half to move his tally for the season on to 12, while centre Ethan Phillips, wing Ewan Bowden and scrumhalf Gruff Tough also scored for the Steelmen at Parc Eirias.

Evan Lloyd added the extras to all five tries, as well as adding a penalty.

“Overall really pleased with five points,” said Strange.

“We played really well, dominated throughout. RGC is a tough place to come, but the mentality the players have shown is outstanding.

“It was a very good team performance and sets us up nicely for our next game against Carmarthen Quins”

Lloyd’s penalty put Ebbw ahead, but the hosts answered quickly. A well-worked driving maul took them close before loosehead prop Gareth Parry powered over for a try, with Billy McBryde adding the conversion.
