'Dangerous' jailed rapist sentenced for previous sex assault
Western Mail
|February 12, 2026
A MAN has been given an extended sentence as a dangerous offender after being convicted of raping a second woman.
Simon Morgan pushed his victim to the floor and throttled and kicked her before raping her.
The attack was not reported at the time and happened before Morgan assaulted, threatened and raped another woman, for which he has already been given a significant prison sentence.
A judge at Swansea Crown Court said given the facts of the offences and everything he had read about the 40-year-old father-of-two in a pre-sentence report, he was satisfied the defendant poses a significant risk of causing serious harm to members of the public by further offending.
The new sexual assault before the court happened in 2015 when Morgan strangled and kicked the woman before taking her phone off her and raping her. The rape was not reported for almost a decade.

Voters want to 'punish' us – Neil Kinnock on the plight Labour faces in Wales
IVEN the premise of the interview we'd agreed on was the state of Labour at the moment, it’s probably fortuitous - for me at least - that as Neil Kinnock and I meet, the main topic dominating the whole Parliamentary estate is the reaction to the latest crisis Keir Starmer is facing.
