IMAGINE waking up every morning and looking out over the Pembrokeshire countryside and thinking “this is the landscape that monks saw centuries ago” - but if you call this home nestled within romantic ruins that's exactly the scenario.
Not many homes can compete with the history and unique nature of this property at Pill Priory on the edge of Milford Haven, because this Welsh gem is comprised of the ruins of the ancient building, including the surviving and impressive chancel arch - a garden feature that is drenched in years of history.
The first prior of the medieval Pill Priory was likely Adam de Rupe (or De La Roche), who established the Benedictine priory in 1170 as a subsidiary of St Dogmaels Abbey. It is thought that, as the founder, he played a crucial role in setting up the site and selecting its initial leadership.
