Western Mail
|March 20, 2026
A BUILDER who had £3,000 worth of tools stolen from a house in Swansea found them for sale on Facebook hours later.
-
He alerted police to the post, then went to the address given on Facebook where he posed as a potential buyer.
The defendant, Craig Dudley, was first charged with burgling the house where the tools had been stolen from but he later pleaded guilty to handling stolen goods on the day of his trial, which was accepted by the Crown.
A judge at Swansea Crown Court told Dudley that as he approached his 40th birthday the time had come for him to reflect on how “foolish” he had been.
