A BUILDER wounded his employee by punching him in the face and splitting his lip before offering a friend £2,000 to tell the victim he would break his arms and legs if he "grassed".

- PHILIP DEWEY Reporter

The employee said he was “bullied” by his boss and colleague, and now feels too frightened to walk the streets of his home town.

Billy Dyer, 37, had employed Connor Clarke as a labourer for three months when he attacked him for being too noisy.

On November 20, 2023, the defendant, Mr Clarke and the victim's girlfriend attended a number of pubs in Tonypandy and a shop to buy alcohol.

A sentencing hearing at Cardiff Crown Court on Friday heard they returned to a B&B where Mr Clarke and his partner sat downstairs while Dyer went upstairs with the alcohol he had purchased.

The defendant later came downstairs and complained about the noise, telling the victim to “shut the f*** up” and acting aggressively.

Dyer screamed and shouted at Mr Clarke, before punching him in the face multiple times.
