Whirlwinds sweep past their hosts

BASEBALL HAVING lost their last few games, Yeovil Whirlwinds braved the Glastonbury traffic on Sunday to travel to Bristol Brunels hoping for a change in fortune in the latest round of the 2025 South West & Wales Baseball League.

Yeovil needed to dig deep in game one. Two runs were scored in both of their first two innings, having conceded two of their three outs both times.
The stand-out play was Jason Tew’s second inside the park home run of the season.
Brunels had a brighter start, taking a 6-4 lead into inning three. With Whirlwinds now getting into the game, a pivotal third inning saw three consecutive hits lay the platform for a five-run inning.
On defence, three quick catches ensured the hosts were unable to score to see Yeovil overturn their early deficit and take a three-run lead.
