NEW opposition is the norm this season following Yeovil Whirlwinds’ move to the South West & Wales Baseball League this year.
This weekend's unfamiliar foes were the visiting Bristol Brunels, with Aidan Johnson making his league debut for the hosts. Game one of the double-header started fairly evenly, with batting dominating the first inning as the teams stood level at 5-5.
With Johnson struggling to consistently find the strike-zone, Bristol again scored well and batted another three runs. A change of pitcher mid-inning saw Chris Spurway take over the mound, but two more runs saw Brunels up to five once more.
