BIRTHDAYS have always been thought of as special occasions in our family.
2025 was no exception and so when the time came preparations were made well in advance. This year was rather special as my wife Sue’s birthday coincided with the Easter Bank Holiday. Because of this we spent the day at the seaside and then invited a few friends around for a drink in the evening. As a special surprise I booked a couple of tickets for the Abba Voyage Experience in London staying over at a nearby Travelodge in the Docklands. With rooms under £40 a night it is a real bargain and ideal for events at the 02 and other nearby venues. For those of you who are regular readers of this column you will be aware that we recently travelled up to London for the Strictly Come Dancing Tour which was very impressive. Living in South Somerset I have often said what good connections there are to the capital either by road, rail or of course Berrys Coaches, the ‘Super-Fast service to the West Country’
Looking back at birthday events over the years I am sure we can all remember ones that really stand out.
