SHUBMAN Gill's unbeaten century was the highlight of the day for India as they reached the close on day one of the second Rothesay Test at Edgbaston on 310-5.

Gill is not out on 114 while Ravindra Jadeja will resume this morning on 41.
That was Gill’s seventh Test hundred and his second in consecutive Tests. It came off 199 balls, with his 11th four.
He had 42 runs off 122 balls and then made 60 off 77 to reach three figures.
It was an innings of patience and one that could prove to be a really important one for his team as this match unfolds.
