The club skipper, 26, who made his 100th competitive appearance - and 50th as captain - in the Gallagher Prem round one victory over Leicester Tigers at Ashton Gate, joined the Bears from the University of Durham in the summer of 2020 and in 2023 became captain.
Director of rugby Lam said: “Fitz has been outstanding for us, not only with his consistency of performance week in, week out, but also through the way he leads this team both on and off the field.
“His commitment to the Bears and the standards he sets for himself and his teammates make him an excellent captain and a huge part of our future. We're delighted he's committed his future to the club.”
Harding added: “It’s an honour to represent Bristol Bears and to lead such a special group of players. The support of the fans and the ambition of the club make this an exciting place to be, and I’m proud to continue my journey here.
