> Rod Stewart performs onstage at the 2025 American Music Awards on May 26 in Las Vegas

- MICHAEL MORAN wdp@reachplc.com

THE Glastonbury Festival is one of the highlights of the musical year - and perhaps some of its most memorable moments come from the Sunday night Legends slot.

In the past, stars such as Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie and Kylie Minogue have led rapturous audiences in hit-packed sets and, for 2025, Sir Rod Stewart will be taking to the iconic Pyramid Stage.

It’s not Rod's first Glasto - he previously headlined the festival in 2002, alongside Coldplay and Stereophonics - but this summer's performance is going to be something special.

The veteran rocker told the BBC’s Sidetracked with Annie and Nick that he'll be spending in the region of £300,000 on his Sunday afternoon show - and adds that he doesn’t even get a guest list, three of his eight children will be buying their own tickets for what may well be the 80-year-old star's last big festival show.
