A HEREFORD Chinese restaurant has lost its drinks and late-night food licence following arrests over immigration offences.

- GAVIN MCEWAN

Herefordshire Council licencing officers sought the move after a police-led operation at Planet Buffet on Commercial Road in February led to the arrest of two Chinese nationals.

The Chinese eat-in and takeaway restaurant was previously licensed to sell alcohol until 11pm and until midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, during which time it could also serve hot food. Revoking this was in effect the only sanction open to the council.
