Fans 'gutted' as Weston land Grimsby trip

WESTON-SUPER-MARE supporters felt a sense of anticlimax after their first appearance in the FA Cup third round draw saw the Seagulls given a tie away to fourth-tier Grimsby Town rather than a money-spinning clash against a Premier League club.

Fans writing on social media used terms including “disappointed”, “gutted” and the “worst possible draw” after the Mariners emerged as Weston’s January opponents.
Newcastle, Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, Manchester United and Brighton were all yet to be drawn as the Seagulls waited to learn their opponents on Monday night, but instead it was a trip to Blundell Park for the National League South outfit.
