Attacking midfielder Earthy, 21, was part of the Robins squad that ended City’s 17-year wait for a Championship playoff finish last season, but returned to the London Stadium upon the conclusion of his season-long loan spell in the West.

West Ham made the decision to keep the academy graduate in East London during the summer transfer window, but the youngster has found regular first-team football difficult to come by, through both injury and competition for places.

Under the management of both Graham Potter and Nuno Espirito Santo, Earthy has made a single Premier League appearance this term, which came in the shape of an eight-minute cameo in a 1-0 defeat to Fulham last month. Outside of that brief showing, the majority of the youngster’s football has come with the Irons’ Under-21s, in the Premier League 2 and Vertu Trophy.
