Clarke: I'm finding it difficult to show face

DARRELL Clarke admits he is "embarrassed" at the way his Bristol Rovers side is playing at the moment - but he insists he will come out fighting as he seeks to end a six-match losing run in Sky Bet League Two.

- WILL MURRAY

Last week's 3-1 loss to Accrington Stanley saw Rovers drop to 19th in the table, which is only three points clear of the relegation zone, and next up is a trip to Clarke's former side Cheltenham, who have significantly improved under Steve Cotterill.

The Robins still sit in the drop zone, having lost their last two matches, but know that a win by two goals or more today would lift them ahead of Rovers.

Speaking about the poor run of form when speaking yesterday, Clarke said: "I care passionately, and I'm finding it hard to show my face around the city at the minute because I'm embarrassed about how we're performing.

"So, you know, you sort of recover and reboot for a couple of days after Saturday, and then people know me well enough to know that I'm going to come out fighting.
