LEARNING MODEL headline
EASTGATE shopping centre in Johannesburg has become home to an innovative new learning hub, Learnergy, marking the first of its kind in South Africa.
Now open, Learnergy will provide academic support, skill development, technological and psycho-social resources to students of all ages, reinforcing the centre's role as a destination that super-serves its youthful shopper base. Learnergy's name is a fusion of "learning" and "energy," embodying its dynamic approach to education.
The centre is spearheaded by Ntsako Mhlanga, a social entrepreneur and education advocate whose work has influenced the education sector. Mhlanga, a former learner at nearby Jeppe High School for Girls, has dedicated her career to improving educational opportunities for young South Africans.
