CRIMINALS STASHED COCAINE IN FOIE GRAS
A WEST LONDON drug smuggling gang ringleader used luxury foods such as foie gras and duck breast to try and get nearly 100kg of cocaine into the UK.
Michael Keating, of Uxbridge, was jailed for 24 years for conspiring to import cocaine.
The plot was foiled when Border Force officers stopped a transit van carrying the fine-dining items as it entered Newhaven from Dieppe in November 2019. Foie gras and duck breast were hiding a false floor in the van where 97kg of cocaine, with a street value of £8 million, had been concealed.
