Convicted fashion mogul to be sentenced today

Disgraced fashion mogul Peter Nygard is expected to be sentenced Monday on four convictions of sexual assault, almost one year after a jury found him guilty.

The Crown is urging Superior Court Justice Robert Goldstein to sentence Nygard to 15 years in prison and make him pay restitution, while defence lawyer Gerri Wiebe is asking for six years.

The 83-year-old Nygard was convicted by a jury last November of attacking three women and a 16year-old girl in the top-floor bedroom of his former Toronto head-quarters at 1 Niagara St. between the 1980s and 2005.
