After 50 years in education, Snow retiring from school board

After 12 years on the Blue Hill school board, chair Jan Snow will retire when her term expires in April.
Her combined teaching and school board experience add up to 50 years dedicated to education.
“I am very grateful for the chance to give back to the school and community that I love,” Snow said in an email. “I am retiring from the board because I think it’s time for other people to have a chance to contribute their time to continue moving our students and school system forward.”
Snow’s career in education began in 1973 in Veazie, at the John R. Graham School. She taught there for six years, both in a multi-age fourth- through sixth-grade program and a kindergarten classroom.
Then, Blue Hill Consolidated School became her home for 32 years. Snow said she taught kindergarten in the first year it was offered all day. She also attire for all genders and of all vintages.
