Sandford out of the bottom two after ending perilous losing streak

SANDFORD rediscovered their Premier Division winning touch after six games without one when they defeated Sidmouth by 94 runs on the Fortfield.

Victory hoisted Sandford out of the bottom two, where their old tenancy has been taken up by Sidmouth.

Skipper Jackson Thompson, in his new role opening the batting, made a top score of 57 for Sandford towards a total of 236 for seven.

Ciaran Gray came and went for 21 of the first 25 in the book, then Lawrence Walker (30) and Adam Small helped the captain push the tally up to 118 for three.

Harrison Jones (35) and Praison Alias (25no) topped-up the total.

Will Murray (2-24) and Ethan Cunningham (2-51) were the only Sidmouth bowlers to take more than one wicket.

Sidmouth were none for two nine balls into their reply with openers Jash Patidar and Charles Brock both gone. Nine for three with South African pro Cunningham just out was not an improvement.

Ethan Chiappe (47) and Davis Trego (21) made some headway, but at 111 for six with the latter just runout by Aryan Lakra the game was only going one way.
