New head seeks to address disadvantage gap for pupils

WILLOWBANK Primary Academy in Cullompton has announced the appointment of Hannah Jay as its new head of school.
Previously serving as deputy head, Hannah stepped into the role at the start of the summer term and has vowed to lead the school through the next stage of its development, with a strong emphasis on inclusion, behaviour and improving academic outcomes.
Hannah said she was “incredibly grateful” to be leading the school and plans to continue work on existing priorities while introducing new strategies.
She added that particular attention would be paid to supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), with adaptations to curriculum design and classroom delivery forming part of her inclusive approach.
"I feel incredibly grateful to be able to lead the school in the next phase of its development, building on the current school priorities and driving change moving forwards," Hannah said.
