Infrastructure before housing
The Tiverton Gazette
|July 01, 2025
BEFORE major housing development happens, the infrastructure really needs to come first.
Too often, major housing projects are provided with little or no thought given to the supporting services.
This has exacerbated capacity issues in relation to such things as school places, GP surgery appointments and it has caused our roads to become clogged with cars too.
I am delighted by the Spending Review decision in relation to a railway station for Cullompton. This is excellent news not only for those people who will be able to walk or cycle to a future Cullompton station, but to those who currently sit in traffic in their vehicle or choke on the fumes while walking or cycling around the town.
