Sharm el-Sheikh: Calling out double standards of rich nations at the UN climate talks (COP27), the bloc of four countries under BASIC — Brazil, South Africa, India and China — said there has also been a significant increase in consumption and production of fossil fuels in the past year by developed nations, even as they continue to press developing countries to move away from same resources.
