Defender Robbo loves it when a plan comes together
ANDY ROBERTSON knew Arne Slot was the right man to succeed Jurgen Klopp the moment the Dutch coach challenged his players to WIN the Premier League before a ball had even been kicked in anger.
Liverpool were away on a pre-season tour in the United States when Slot walked into the training ground in Pittsburgh to inform his squad that his first-season aim was to eclipse Manchester City and Arsenal.
The Reds go into today's Carabao Cup Final looking to land the first silverware of Slot's reign just five days after their Treble dream was ended in a penalty shoot-out defeat by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.
But after Slot had refused to accept his first season could only be about 'settling in' and consolidation, Liverpool find themselves 15 points clear at the top of the Premier League, Reds defender Robertson said: "When you're at a club like Liverpool you can't afford a settling-in period. It's a massive club that expects to win trophies and the manager was very clear on that from his first day.
