IF you thought the Swinging Sixties was just a moment in history, it's time to think again.
At 64, Suzanne Noble is giving it a whole new meaning - realising after a lifetime of monogamy that something was missing.
Mum Suzanne explains: "I've been married, had two children and had long-term relationships.
"But over time I've learned that what really works for me is freedom freedom with a touch of emotional intimacy but not something that's going to be emotionally draining" Since the loss of her long-term partner in 2022 and another who died two decades previouslySuzanne has been embracing nonmonogamous relationships.
As well as having a weekend sex partner, she hosts swinging sessions herself and says her "little black book" is more full than ever.
HOOK-UP Suzanne, a singer from northwest London, met her current sexual partner - who she calls her "situationship-on a hook-up site.
She says: "We had Sunday lunch, very traditional. Then we went back to my place. There was this mutual recognition that, yeah, this was going to be good." In the two years since, their connection has grown - not into a conventional relationship but into a mostly physical one.
Suzanne says: "He's met some of my friends. He comes to my singing gigs. We've gone on holiday together. We talk during the week.
"But we both value our independence. We meet up, we have fun, then we go back to our own lives." And the pair are not exclusive. She explains: "I don't know if he's seeing anyone else and I don't care. We connect physically and care about each other - but we don't need to put each other in boxes." Suzanne practises "ethically non-monogamous" relationships a dynamic that allows her to separate her emotional needs from physical ones.
She says it lets her engage with people in ways that are consensual and flexible.
And she says acknowledging that one person cannot solely meet all her needs has set her free.
