Racism rising in schools, says teaching union

- BY SOPHIE HUSKISSON

A NIGEL Farage government would be catastrophic for children and young people, the chief of the UK's largest education union has said.

Daniel Kebede, general secretary of the National Education Union, added that Labour was in danger of ushering in a Reform UK government at the next election.

He also warned of the scourge of racism and social media addiction in schools.

Mr Kebede said: "I think the stakes are really high for Labour because their failure to deliver on the change that they promised is leading to a Nigel Farage government in four years time, which will be absolutely disastrous for children and education."

Asked about the impact of Mr Farage's soaring popularity on children, Mr Kebede said: "We're seeing racist incidents increase in schools every year at the moment. Schools have become targeted by far right groups.
