Taylor Swift's Life Of A Showgirl film racks up $19m in US first-day pre-sales

American pop star Taylor Swift’s film celebrating the release of her upcoming 12th album The Life Of A Showgirl has racked up US$15 million (S$19 million) within 24 hours of tickets going on sale on Sept 19 in the United States, US entertainment news site Deadline reports.
Titled Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party Of A Showgirl, the 89-minute movie includes the premiere of the music video for the first single, The Fate Of Ophelia.
It will also feature behind-the-scenes footage of the making of the music video, a commentary from Swift on the album’s track list, as well as new lyric videos.
The limited-time theatrical event across the US will kick off on Oct 3 - the same day the album is releasedand end on Oct 5.
According to Deadline, the film is expected to take in between US$30 million and US$50 million over the three days.
