The Mission To Earthphase’s Earth Phase Indicator lets you experience how Earth would look from the moon
IWC PILOT'S WATCH CHRONOGRAPH EDITION POLARIS DAWN
On Aug 26, four IWC Schaffhausen timepieces made a historic journey into space aboard Polaris Dawn, the SpaceX mission that set a new record for the highest Earth orbit at 1,400km. This commercial spaceflight also made history as the first to have all four crew members participate in a spacewalk.Worn by the crew members, the IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph Edition Polaris Dawn was designed specially for this mission. Each watch features a white ceramic case and a deep blue dial adorned with stars, embodying the spirit of exploration.
On the back of each chronograph is an engraving with the name of a crew member: commander Jared Isaacman, mission specialist Sarah Gillis, pilot Scott "Kidd" Poteet and medical officer Anna Menon.
These watches symbolise both the achievement of reaching new space frontiers and the timeless human desire to push beyond limits.
Returning from space, these timepieces will be auctioned at Christie's in December. All proceeds will benefit St Jude Children's Research Hospital, a hospital in Memphis in the United States, which treats the toughest childhood cancers and paediatric diseases.
