S'pore shares rise as market reacts to growth forecast

Local stocks snapped a five-day losing streak to end higher on Sept 23, as investors reacted to comments that Singapore can focus on opportunities to boost growth at a faster clip.
Deputy Prime Minister Gan Kim Yong told Parliament on Sept 22 the country can aim for economic growth of between 3 per cent and 4 per cent - or higher in "very good years" - despite challenges ahead.
These remarks were delivered after the stock market closed.
