S'pore shares fall, tracking retreat in regional markets

STI ends 0.6% lower; all three local banks in the red
Shares on the Singapore bourse closed lower on Oct 17, tracking declines across major regional markets. The benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) fell 0.6 per cent, or 27.27 points, to 4,328.93. Across the broader market, decliners outnumbered advancers 446 to 186, with 1.5 billion securities traded and total turnover at $1.6 billion.
CapitaLand Integrated Commercial Trust was the top gainer on the STI, rising 0.8 per cent to $2.38.
