He hails 'outstanding' display after they twice come from behind to hold Fulham
-
LONDON - Liverpool manager Arne Slot was unhappy with a narrow 1-0 Champions League victory at Girona on Dec 10, but on Dec 14, the Dutchman was delighted with his players' resilience in a 2-2 home draw against Fulham after his 10-man team twice fought back from a goal down.
Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota scored for the Reds, who remain top of the English Premier League on 36 points from 15 games - although Chelsea could cut the gap to two points with a win over Brentford on Dec 15, having played a game more.
Jota netted an 86th-minute equaliser to send the Anfield faithful into a frenzy.
"I don't think I could have asked for more from my players, especially after going down to 10 men," Slot said.
"It's an emotional game. It's good to see our performance after so many setbacks.
