World Peace Yagna performed at Mahesh Jagannath Temple

Special prayers and a yagna were performed at the 628-year-old Mahesh Sri Jagannath Temple for communal harmony and world peace.
At the initiative of State Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, a massive renovation project was undertaken to upgrade the 628-year-old Mahesh Jagannath Temple as a tourist spot on the world tourism map, with the added honor of heritage status.
Thousands of devotees from all parts of the country visit this 6th-century-old Jagannath Temple to offer prayers. Hundreds of tourists and visitors from all over the world visit this holy shrine seeking blessings and to become a part of the age-old rituals and traditions, which are still strictly followed to this day.
