STF of forest department raids marriage hall, seizes rare animal body parts; two persons arrested

Acting on a specific tip-off, the Special Task Force of the Forest Department, with the help of the Kulti Police, arrested two inter-state criminals and unearthed an animal parts smuggling racket.

They seized horns of deer and scales of Indian Pangolin.
Sukumar Bauri, a resident of Dhanbad district, and Ganesh Prasad (54), a resident of Bokaro district of Jharkhand, had booked a room in a marriage hall in Chalbalpur under Kulti Police Station of the ADPC.
The STF and Kulti Police jointly raided the marriage hall and apprehended the criminals along with the hidden animal body parts.
They were forwarded to Asansol District Court yesterday and police custody was sought. However, the court sent them to judicial custody.
