Congress leader Rahul Gandhi Sunday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and damage caused by heavy rains and landslides in West Bengal and Sikkim.

Ina social media post, Gandhi conveyed his condolences to the affected families and appealed for expedited relief and rescue operations.

"The news of the deaths of several people and the missing of many others due to heavy rains and landslides in various parts of West Bengal and Sikkim is extremely heartbreaking," Gandhi said.
