WBUT, Omkarnath Mission sign MoU to promote Indic studies

In a move that is expected to open up a new chapter in higher education and cultural research in the state, the West Bengal University of Transformative Studies ~ popularly known as the Biswa Bangla University ~ on Sunday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Omkarnath Mission ~ Research Centre for Indological Studies.
The MoU was signed at the Mission's international headquarters at Mahamilan Math near Dunlop in Kolkata.The initiative comes at a time when the state government is developing the Gateway of Kolkata near Dunlop, a project inspired by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and named after Sitaram Das Omkarnath. The latest academic partnership is being viewed as an extension of the government's cultural outreach and its efforts to foreground Bengal's intellectual heritage.
