Raju Bista urges Centre for Permanent Calcutta HC Bench, better judicial infrastructure in North Bengal

Darjeeling MP Raju Bista met Union Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal on Wednesday to raise key issues concerning judicial infrastructure and access to justice in the Darjeeling hills, Siliguri, Terai, Dooars, and the wider north Bengal region.

During the meeting, Mr. Bista urged the Centre to establish a Permanent Bench of the Calcutta High Court in the Darjeeling-Siliguri-Jalpaiguri region, along with the setting up of various tax tribunals. "This would significantly reduce the travel burden for nearly three crore residents of North Bengal and ensure better access to justice," he said.
