Gobindobhog rice suffers production losses, growers & exporters suffer jolt

The Weather God was not too kind to growers of Gobindobhog paddy and exporters of Gobindobhog rice in recent years, causing Gobindobhog rice exporters to suffer a major jolt in the global, particularly Middle Eastern markets.

India is the world's second-largest producer of rice and the world's largest exporter of rice. Rice is a major part of India's economy and food grain production.

The hardship caused by several natural calamities forced the Gobindobhog rice growers to raise prices for the shelves across the Middle East in order to make up for the production losses—to whatever extent possible.
