Farmers Get Financial Aid of ₹20,000 Cr Under 20th PM-KISAN Installment

An amount of over rupees 20,000 crore was deposited in the accounts of farmers across the country through the 20th installment of 'Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi' (PM-KISAN) Yojana on Saturday.

With this, over rupees 3,77,000 crore have been transferred directly to the accounts of farmers under the scheme so far, an official release issued here said.

Addressing a huge gathering of farmers, officials and dignitaries in Patna, Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reiterated that agriculture is the backbone of the Indian economy and farmers are its soul. "Serving these farmers is our ultimate responsibility," the Union minister said.
